THE POSITIVE PSYCHOLOGY APPROACH

Imagine focusing on building mental strength and happiness instead of just fixing problems. That’s the realm of positive psychology interventions (PPIs): a set of science-backed tools and strategies to enhance wellbeing and help people to thrive and flourish within life.

Positive Psychology is a preventative way to improve wellbeing and mental health within any organisation.

The best part? Positive Psychology Interventions are accessible to everyone! You can easily incorporate them into daily life, no matter your background or situation. Remember, it’s about building small, sustainable habits that cultivate your wellbeing over time.

Within this approach we would cover the following elements known as PERMA within our positive psychology workshops:

  • Positive Emotions: What in your life brings you positive emotions? How can we cultivate more positive emotions and become more mindful of the emotions we are already experiencing?
  • Engagement: What are some aspects of your life that you find engaging
and put you into your flow zone? How can we use this to be more productive in life? How can we embed more of these activities into our lives?
  • Relationships: How can we foster and maintain positive relationships? How can we set healthy boundaries within life and relationships?
  • Meaning: What do you do in life that aligns with your personal values and interests and bring meaning to your life?
  • Accomplishment: What brings you a sense of achievement? What have you achieved and what would you like to achieve?

For PERMA to be more effective within your environment we would also explore the following factors within your organisation in a consultancy format, exploring how you can embed these elements into your organisations culture:

  • Physical Health: How can we create a more supportive environment for your community to focus on their physical health?
  • Mindset: How can we cultivate and embed a growth mindset within your organisation?
  • Environment: How can we create a more comfortable environment, which promotes engagement and reduces distractions?
  • Economic Security: How can we create a more equitable and supportive environment that addresses economic concerns and supports people who are struggling?
